Building these nesting tables was a treat. My client wanted a pair of tables with more flair than she had been able to find in traditional furniture stores. I used striped limba with an oil finish to bring out the golden, honey tones in contrast to the woods dark stripes. I left the suble burnished finish of the hand tool rather than use sandpaper to smooth the surface. This left a subtle texture inviting for the hand to run across and created a wonderful interplay of light across the curved legs.
